Dragon Hunters

A fantastic tale telling the adventures of two dragon hunters!

This is really average movie. Everything is average, but let me go over main aspects :

Storyline :
There is nothing special in storyline, bunch of fake heroes are sent by local lord to slay biggest dragon ever; somehow it feels like creators of movie adapted ideas from Shrek I; but there is no interesting twist, so story is pretty much straight.

Characters :
I didn't watch 2D series of the this cartoon, but in the movie the characters are poorly created. The producers tried to add some tension between heroes, but it doesn't work; dialogs are not rich and sometimes just meaningless contributing nothing to the content and the progress of the storyline; finally some heroes like a girl and a rabbit seems to be there just for nothing, the movie will not change a lot if they are removed.

Graphics :
Graphics is not that bad, but there are several drawbacks; movement of the characters and general physics is could be done better considering current achievements of CG technology; what is the worst is the facial expression of characters, facial expressions are very rough and limited to few movements of the mouth and the eyes; the environment is mainly dominated by blue, green and orange colors considering the fact that human is most comfortable with those colors.

Music, voice and sound effects :
I watched the English version and must say that voice was the worst part of the movie, the voicing is done poorly and sometimes it is just flat reading without much intonation; they try to fix it by increasing tone of the voice and screaming (especially in case of girl) but it makes movie just annoying sometimes. Music is just average, not good and not bad. Sound effects are done much better than voicing and music: sounds of thunder, flames, building breaking apart, foot steps, background noise, they all done great.

As conclusion I would say that movie is for one time watch when you have nothing else to do and watch. There is really nothing to gain from watching this movie and nothing to lose.
